Hi Class of 1996,
![]() I've enjoyed being your Class Agent for the past few years, but our family has a number of changes that we're looking forward to in 2010 that will mean that I need to step aside and let someone else take over. For the past 2 years our family has been stationed in Monterey, CA while my husband Josh (class of '97) has been getting his Master's degree in in Middle Eastern studies and learning Arabic. In November of this year our family will move to Cairo, Egypt so Josh can complete the immersion portion of his language studies. We have been really excited about spending the year together overseas with our 3 boys: Calvin (11), Carter (8), and Caleb (5). Our other exciting news is that we will be taking an extra family member to Egypt with us because we are expecting a baby girl in June! Even though I won't be serving as class agent anymore, I'd still love to keep in touch with any of you who are interested. My husband and I are both on Facebook and would love to hear from you. May your 2010 be as full of blessings as ours has been! Robin Hicks Chartier '96
Dear Class of 1996,
First, I'd like to thank Robin for her work as Class Agent the last several years. I've enjoyed hearing the updates from many of you and receiving details of what is happening at Westmont. We wish Robin and the family all the best as they spend the next year in Egypt. Amanda and I moved back to Santa Barbara last summer after 9 years in Maryland and Northern CA. Life is very different than when we left as newlyweds, but every day we are reminded of what makes this place so special and have enjoyed settling back into the familiar SB surroundings. I work as Product Manager at a local engineering company and Amanda has her hands full raising our three kids: Caleb (5), Joanna (3) and Selah (1). We've enjoyed the chances to reconnect with friends in the area and have taken advantage of being close to campus to attend several events. The small church that we attend in Goleta has even brought an unexpected connection to campus. A Westmont Senior spends every Saturday night leading the praise and worship at the church. He is a regular reminder of the quality and maturity of students that Westmont develops. Amanda and I are excited to serve as Class Agents for 1996 and look forward to what God has in store for us here in Santa Barbara. Please look us up if you come to town! We look forward to hearing from you and helping you keep connected with Westmont and the Class of 1996!
Sincerely,
