Dear Fellow 1992 Alumni,

We pray that your Spring is off to a great start.

Do you remember Spring Sing? This year marked the 50th Anniversary of this Westmont tradition! And just like when we were at Westmont, VK men came out on top. (To recall the former days of VK dominance, see the 1991 Sweepstakes winner here. My cameo as a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader makes my wife so proud... ok, actually she's thankful she didn't know me then). WestmontImpact.org is showcasing videos of some of the best Spring Sing skits over the last 20+ years. Check out all the skits at westmontimpact.org/blog/.

One of my great joys is being able to visit with those of you who come back to Santa Barbara to visit. Recently, I was able to see Matt and Tara (Benson) Bailey. Matt is an othopedic surgeon. Tara is a full-time mom for their 5! kids. They live in Montana.

Then I got to see Jeff Dykstra. He is a single dad with 7 kids! Here is a picture with him at the top of Cold Spring trail with his brood:

Ok, those aren't all his kids, but that is Cold Springs Falls in the background. And Jeff really did hike that trail on a broken ankle! Jeff and Molly and their 3 kids live in Minnesota. They moved back to the U.S. three years ago after living for two years in Zambia. Jeff now works with major food companies to direct their philanthropy efforts towards African nations. Here is a picture of the Dykstras with Dave and Paige Chase and Dan and Mo Hislop. (The Chases and Hislops own most of the kids in the previous picture).

Westmont is working to be a great resource for us in our careers, ministries, and friendships. We as alumni can be a resource for one another by sharing our skills and opportunities we know of with other alumni. If you're looking for work or Christian networking opportunities, reply to this email with your information. Or, for those of you who know of an opening at your business, church, etc, please send that information in as well. We'll collect your responses and put them in our next newsletter.

As Holy Week approaches, we pray that the realities of the death and resurrection of our Lord will grip you in a fresh way and sustain you with the hope and joy that can only be found in Him!

In Christ,
Mike Willbanks

Growing in Grace and Faith: Waking Up

1984 alumnus James Banks reflects on how God has grown his heart since his time at Westmont:

Cari (Dotres) and I left Westmont over 25 years ago, but some memories are as vivid as if they happened yesterday. Read more.
