Dear Fellow 2006 Alumni, We pray that your Spring is off to a great start. Westmont is working to be a great resource for us in our careers, ministries, and friendships. We as alumni can be a resource for one another by sharing our skills and opportunities we know of with other alumni. If you're looking for work or a Christian network in your area, reply to this email with your information. Or, for those of you who know of an opening at your business, church, etc, please send that information in as well. We'll collect your responses and put them in our next newsletter. We also received an update for this newsletter from our classmates Garrett Fujiwara and Amy Halliburton. Want to be featured in our next newsletter? We want to hear from you! Reply to this email or send us a message on Facebook. We pray that God may richly bless you. In Christ, Nick Burwell
Garrett Fujiwara '06 This past year has been a busy one for me! Last June, I ended my employment at ALG (Automotive Lease Guide) in Santa Barbara, where I had been working since graduation. I then moved home to Washington to be with my family in preparation for my wedding. In July, I was married to Rachael Sinclair on a beautiful day in Seattle. Since then we have moved to Salem, Oregon where I am attending the MBA program at Willamette University. I am enjoying the program and have received an internship offer at Intel, at their location outside of Portland. I am excited for the opportunity and will be commuting there this summer. While my wife and I miss the good times in Santa Barbara, we are having fun starting our life together here in Salem. We look forward to seeing you this fall at the five year reunion!
Amy Halliburton '06 After spending a few post-college years working and playing in beautiful Santa Barbara, I moved back to Dallas, Texas. I work as the Communications Director for the Grant Halliburton Foundation, the non-profit my family founded after my brother's suicide at the age of 19. The Foundation is working to change the way our community serves the mental health needs of teens and young adults. It is fulfilling and challenging, and I am honored to work with a gifted group of people, including my mom! This has been a fun season for me-falling in love, taking up salsa dancing, and enjoying lots of good time with family and friends. I am regularly reminded of what an amazing experience and privilege it was to attend Westmont and strive to put my education into practice. See you at the five-year reunion! | |||||
