Lynne Marie Martens is a graduate of Westmont College with a B.A. in Theatre Arts and English Literature. Lynne has designed costumes for theatre including: Rise Now by Bryan Puckett, As You Like It and Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare and Ecclesia by Zak Landrum and Diana Small. Lynne also collaborated on a short film with USC film students on You Kill Me, dir. by Monica Sender.
Lynne theatrical interests include playwriting. Her two-act Shakespearean exploration, Love Me Dead, opened in May 2009 in Santa Barbara, CA. It is
a modern reimagining of Romeo
and Juliet
that focuses on the love triangle of Romeo, Juliet and Rosaline; while
embarking on a journey through the concepts of string theory.
Lynne's designs often take inspiration from nature, period clothing and current fashion trends, while her unique imagination finds the fantastical elements of linking them together. She has a talent for using costuming as insight into character detail without distracting from other production elements.
Her interests include: photography, writing, acting, design, music, art and literature. Lynne is enrolled in the MFA Costume Design program at the California Institute of the Arts.
